This stuff is awesome! Never have my dishes been so clean, and I don't have to worry about those nasty toxic chemicals. The ingredients can be used in so many homemade cleaning and self care products, so already having the items in the house means this is super cheap and easy to whip up a new batch when I run out! I find this even gets the dishes clean when there is a little bit of stuck on food still on them when they go in the dishwasher...
2 cups Borax (NOT boric acid)
2 cups Washing Soda - arm & hammer but be sure it's washing soda, not baking soda
Both of the above can be found in the laundry detergent / cleaning supply section of your average department or grocery store.
Mix together in a container. Add 10 drops of lemon essential oil and mix again. Use the same amount you would of store bought dish detergent. I keep mine in a jar with a scoop.
You can add vinegar as a great spot free rinsing agent to your dish cycle, and remember to save more money and water, only run your dishwasher when it's full!
